WE'RE GROWING!

The Huntington Beach Community Garden celebrated its grand opening on March 26, 2011!  Gardeners have planted their gardens and are already enjoying the fruits of their labor.  They have pledged 10% of their yield to local charities and have donated over 1000 pounds so far!

The HBCG acknowledges the tireless efforts of its volunteers for their accomplishments:

  • Formally organized the Huntington Beach Community Garden with Bylaws, Board of Directors and officers
  • Obtained 501(c)(3) non-profit status through affiliation with the California Garden Clubs, Inc. - Federal Tax ID 27-0678187, Group Exemption 5358
  • Developed Community Garden Rules and Regulations
  • Selected garden site at the end of Atlanta @ the Santa Ana River
  • Worked with HB City officials to lease site from Southern California Edison
  • Organized and supervised the constructed of garden plots and irrigation
